SalMar Tjuin
A 17,000 m² land-based RAS smolt facility for SalMar at Tjuin, Steinkjer, in mid-Norway, completed in 2023.
The smolt facility for SalMar at Tjuin is built around recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), with strict requirements for hygiene and biosecurity. The layout gives a continuous flow between fish stages and accessible technical rooms, with room for future changes. From 2020 to 2023 the office was responsible for the preliminary and detailed design and remained involved during construction.
