Lerøy Belsvik
A new RAS hatchery of some 10,500 m², built in two stages on a hatchery site in operation since 1986.
The hatchery for Lerøy Midt lies at Belsvika in Heim, on the coast of mid-Norway, and is the largest of the company’s five hatcheries. The two stages were completed in 2013 and 2022. Production is divided into five departments for hatching, start feeding, growth, pre-smolt and smolt. Each department is its own biosecurity zone, and administration sits on the mezzanine.
The post-smolt building is joined to the original facility by an internal footbridge, so staff move between the buildings without crossing the zones outdoors. The office planned the 58,000 m² site and continued on the project until the buildings were completed.
